Well, we’re a week into the new year. How many of you are still going strong on your new year’s resolutions? (One of my resolutions is to read 50 novels this year–see what I’m reading on my Reading is Fun page.) How many of you have already persuaded yourselves to pause your goals and plans, and to take a small detour “just this once?” How many just said the heck with it and didn’t bother?
For many would-be writers, eager to scratch out ink to the paper for the first time, on their way to that best-seller or the next “great american novel,” the fresh start of a new year delivers great hopes and possibilities.
